News in Motion: Daily Texan Shorts
The Daily Texan's video team was doing great work. The problem was reach long-form content wasn't meeting students where they already were. I proposed a new team within the department: six people focused entirely on short-form storytelling built for Instagram.
I set editorial direction, designed the onboarding program for new members, and made every call on timing, length, and angle. As an exec staffer, I also managed team access to campus resources, handled source conflicts, and kept our work aligned with The Texan's standards.

Texas 4000
As an editor at The Daily Texan, I led a team through 10+ interviews and hours of b-roll to tell the story of Texas 4000: the longest annual charity bike ride in the world. Using Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop, we wove together the voices and visuals behind the ride. The result was 10K+ views and the most successful project of my first year.
Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton Feature Story
As a general sports reporter at The Daily Texan, I covered the arrival of Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton. The former WNBA first-round pick and two-time USA Basketball gold medalist arrived as the new assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Texas women's basketball.
So Long, The Texan
My farewell column for The Daily Texan, reflecting on three semesters of growth, the friendships that made the basement feel like home, and the moment I realized the question I'd been answering since kindergarten had finally changed.
